CoThe Co Lab

Gather · retreats & events

Photographers are better together.

The industry loves to tell us we're rivals. I've never believed it. The Co Lab gatherings are small, unhurried retreats and get-togethers built on the opposite idea, that we go further, and enjoy it more, when we share the journey.

What a gathering feels like

Less conference, more camaraderie.

Small groups

A handful of us, not a hundred. Everyone actually in the room, everyone actually known.

Somewhere beautiful

Lochs, hills and honest Scottish light. The kind of place that resets your shoulders the moment you arrive.

Real conversation

Shared meals, honest chat about the hard bits, and the quiet swapping of how we each actually work.

No pitch at the end

Nobody selling you the next tier of anything. You leave with ideas and friends, not a sales funnel.

Already in motion

This isn't just an idea.

This January I'm co-hosting exactly the kind of gathering I mean. A big old house in the Cairngorms, a handful of photographers, and a few days with no stage, no schedule to survive, and absolutely nothing to buy at the end.

It's non-profit and built on sharing: gently structured chats about business and craft, led by the people in the room, wrapped around long meals, cold walks and honest conversation with people who do the same strange, wonderful job. A place for inspiration, ideas and genuine connection, not hustle and not an upsell in sight.

That one runs under its own name, but the spirit of it is exactly what I want to bring to The Co Lab: real gatherings that leave you fuller, not more frazzled. Think of it as a taste of what's coming here.

First gatherings taking shape for 2027

Want to be in the room?

I'm shaping the first Co Lab retreats now, dates, places and numbers. If a small, honest gathering of photographers sounds like what you've been missing, register your interest and you'll be the first to hear when they open.

Just an email for now, no forms, no commitment.
