Meet Inspo, your shoot-day poses one swipe away

Let me paint you a picture you might recognise. You're parked outside the venue, ten minutes before couple portraits. You've done this a hundred times. And yet, right now, you cannot for the life of you remember a single pose. Your mind is a lovely, calm, empty field.

For years my fix was a messy folder of screenshots on my phone. Poses I loved, shots I wanted to try, frames from other photographers that made me stop scrolling. It worked, sort of, but it was a chaotic pile with no order to it, and finding the right one in the moment meant thumbing through hundreds of images while a couple waited. So I built something better, and I've called it Inspo.

What it is

Inspo is that folder of screenshots, but organised. You save the poses and references you love, tag them by shoot type and moment, and give each one a note: the exact pose, or the prompt you'd say out loud to get it. Then, on the day, you open the swipe mode and flick through your tried-and-tested ideas one at a time until your confidence comes back.

• Add images by upload, paste, or drag, straight from wherever you saved them.
• Tag them (couples shoot, wedding prep, dancefloor, families, newborns) and filter to exactly the moment you need.
• Note the pose or the prompt, so you remember not just the look, but how you got it.
• Swipe through them full-screen, prompts and all, for that blank-mind moment in the car.

The best part, and the reason it's free, is that it all lives in your browser on your own device, exactly like your camera roll. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. It's a private reference tool for you, not a gallery to publish, so keep it to images that are already public, and always take your lead from and credit the artists who inspire you.

The goal was never a prettier folder. It was to walk up to a couple with my head clear and my ideas ready.

It already lives inside my own CRM

Here's a peek behind the curtain. Like a few of my tools, Inspo isn't just an idea I dreamed up for the website. I built it into my own personal, slightly obsessive CRM system a while ago, for these exact situations. The version here is that same brain, pulled out and made simple enough for anyone to use.

In my own setup it goes a step further: I can assign specific reference images to a specific job. So when I book a couple at a venue I know, I attach the shots I already know will work there, the light I love, the corner that always delivers, the pose that suits that staircase. By the time the day comes, I've got a tailored little shortlist for that exact wedding, not just a general pile.

Where it's headed

That's the direction a paid Pro version would take. The free board is genuinely useful on its own, but Pro is where the powerful, connected bits live: your own custom tags, an unlimited board, saving straight from an Instagram link so a reference never disappears, and syncing across your phone and laptop.

The one I'm most excited about is location and venue tags. Imagine tagging every reference by where it was shot, then, the week before a wedding, pulling up every idea you've ever saved for that venue. A gift whether it's a place you know like the back of your hand, or one you've never set foot in. That's the kind of quiet, practical magic I want these tools to have.
